Sports Betting Terms Starting From E-F

Each Way - UK term for betting on a team or individual to win and/or 'Place'. The bet is automatically split into two, 50:50 and the odds for each bet are different. If your selection wins, the Place bet wins automatically. Therefore, you could win either both bets or Place only.

Even Money - A 1:1 odds bet. A $1 stake would return $2 dividend ($1 win plus $1 staked).

Favorite - The contestant in any given contest that is considered the most talented, or has the best chance to win the contest

Final Four - Final four teams in the NCAA basketball tournament

Firing - Betting a lot. A player who is "firing" is wagering large sums

"Foots" - Slang word used sometimes for football

Futures - Wagers made, or lines/odds posted on an event or outcome taking place some time in the future, e.g. betting during the season on the SuperBowl winner.

Fast Company - Smart gamblers

Fat - a person with plenty of money

Fish - A sucker

Fifty cents - $50

Figure - the amount owed to or by a bookmaker

First half bet - a bet placed only on the first half of the game.

Future - odds are posted in advance on the winners of various major events including the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Stanley Cup, and the NBA Championship this is called a Future bet.
